Low power LED AC Lamp

This lamp use two circuits one is converts AC voltage into DC voltage and second is LEDs circuit. One disadvantage of this circuit is that you can connect more than 20 LEDs in series and parallel combination. It is use as a night lamp or in small room. It’s consume very less power.

Making connection for AC lamp

You can take component as per given component list and first you should identify polarity of all component and then components are mounted on Printed Circuit Board (PCB) as per given circuit diagram. You should take care while soldering and plugging into 230v.

We give 230 volt input to the circuit in circuit reduce current as well as voltage this given to diode bridge circuit. The diode bridge circuit main function is its convert AC voltage into DC voltage and that DC volt given to LED. The LED connect in combination of series and parallel form, If one LED burn then other LEDs will be not problem

1) It operated on 230v AC.
2) Low power consumption up to 3 watt.
3) It works continuously.
4) If any there are any changes in main supply that time there is no effect on LED lamp.

Emergency Lamp
This circuit consume very less power than CFL lamp and incandescent lamp. The lamp take 6 hours for battery charger and you get 25 hrs backup. Lamp use for farmer on field and best for rural and urban areas.
Making connection for lamp
You can take component as per given part list and first you should identify polarity of all component and then components mounted on Printed Circuit Board (PCB) as per given circuit diagram. When complete soldering then You can connect LED lamp to one side of switch and another side of switch connect side search light and middle terminal of switch connect to battery positive and charger output. The make connection for charger, output from transformer to separate two wire and this wire connect to separate of two diode and this two diode negative will be combine and connect to switch. The separate one diode connect to one wire of transformer for mains ON.

1) It is operates on 6V (4.5AH) battery.
2) Low power consumption. Consumes up to 1.5watt.
3) It gives backup for 25 hours.

LED Charger

A 6V charger was designed and it is a product of Fablab. It is very useful to charge 6v battery. The cost of charger is Rs.85.
LED Light
A 230 volt tube light like LED is also available. The cost of tube light is about Rs.110. It consumes about 5w of power.

The tepoy was designed and cut on Torchmate. It is the first product on Torchmate. The cost of tepoy is 300Rs.

There is an engraved design on the tepoy and will be make it more attractive thing as we add more skills.

We have continued with our innovative ideas and designed a unique metal cutter. The cutter was designed by Ram Chougule one of our DBRT ex-student. One can cut all types of metals and angles with the cutter

This is another product of fablab. The step down circut is assamble in this. Most CFL's available in market are use & throw. We applied a circut in adapter we have given the freedom to same adapter for many tubes.

This torch is working on 9 volt DC battery. You can hang this torch on siling.
2. Big Torch
This torch is working on 6 volt DC battery. This torch is very useful to farmer. They can bring this torch in farm at night. Big light works up to 40 hours and small is up to 80 hours.
3. Emergency Lamp.
This lamp is useful for home. It is working 6 volt DC battery. It works up to 35 hours.

Hearing Aid

This low-cost, general-purpose electronic hearing aid works off 3V DC.
In this circuit, transistor and associated components from the audio signal preamplifier for the acoustic signals picked up by the condenser microphone and converted into corresponding electrical signal. The audio output of this circuit is 10 to 15mW and the quiescent current drain is below 1mA.

Tube Light Booster.

This is an applicative project. Power is a problem in rural Maharashtra and Quality of power just make situation worse. Basawling Patil D.B.R.T student took the initiative to make a tube light booster to solve this problem. This is a low cost device and can be afforded by any household.

Bell-Cum light Controller Circut
Bell cum light controller is a simple project done by DBRT students. There are four switches used in this project.Switch s1 is at the outer entry of the gate and is used by visitor. This switch activates the bell for the duration that switch is pressed. On its released the timer is initialised, which in turn switches on a bulb to light up path between the outer gate and house door.s2 switches on the light in the house for 3 minutes. It is used by the inhibitants of the house. It is used with the darkenss when s4 is ON.
When switch is pressed ON it activates the bell circuit only.It works even if the power is OFF as it runs on 3 volt battery.
switch s4 routes the supply to bulb through the relay.

L.E.D Training program

Training Program was for IBT instructor and DBRT students from 21st May to 26th May by Sunil Bedse from pabal. Instructor from every corner of Maharashtra attended the program. Emergency torches and LED torches were assemble along with charger circuit.

These instructor will take this knowledge to the school they teach and it is exported at 2500 students will be benefited. We would like to thank DST(Department of science & technology) for helping us to spread the knowledge of LED.
Pedal Power Project

We made a pedal power cycle to generate electricity which in turn will charge the battery.

A uniquely designed flywheel was our innovaton.
It is a monowheel cycle and is attached to AC generator with V belt. We converted AC in DC and gave it to 12volt 32Ahr Battery
. We got 3Ampere Current at 1500 RPM. We used L.E.D lamps for lightning when the battery is charged. LED consumes only 2Watts of power.

We are planning to employ this project in tribal areas and Nomads where grid power is not an option as it is unaffordable to tribals and cannot be given to nomads who keep on moving from one place to another.

This mechanism is a big success in a Thane school where 32 children pedal for 15 minutes a day and develop uninterrupted power for their classrooms.

Electric power generation using dung bio gas.

Objective of this project is to generate electric power using bio gas.We use oil cakes and cow dung as feed for bio gas and this has worked excellently for our Bio Gas plant.

Idea is to generate electricity locally using dung bio gas.
This is an attempt to develop a model of producing electricity locally on small scale, and consume it within a short distance.

What is bio gas?
Bio gas is a mixture of gases, usually carbon dioxide and methane. It is produce by as a result of anaerobic decomposition of organic matter such as vegetable waste, animal waste. It is produce by a few kind of micro organism.
The active main flammable component is methane. Advantage of methane is that it dose not produce harmful carbon monoxide gas. So it is very good to use it in home.
As compare of with commercially available natural gas, Bio Gas contain a large preparation of carbon dioxide. So it is needed to remove such contain before using Bio Gas in IC engine. Process of filtration is important factor while using Bio Gas in internal combustion engine.

Approximate gases content in Bio Gas :-
  1. Methane(CH4) - 66.5%
  2. Carbon Dioxide(CO2) - 30.5%
  3. O2+N2 - 0.5%
  4. Humidity - 2.5%

(Source-Wikipedia and Chinese Bio gas manual)

  1. Producers gas:-1200kcal/cum
  2. Landfill gas:-4000-5000kcal/cum
  3. Bio Gas:- 4500-6000kcal/cum
  4. Natural Gas:-6800-8000kcal/cum
  5. LPG:-10000-11000kcal/cum

Milk Tester Updates-:

This month we have taken readings with the new program that we were given by Neil, but unfortunately I used the old circuit.I was not able to load the program in the new circuit. This month there will be more work on the circuitry and the progarm so that I can use the new circuit as well as the program to take the readings.
Low cost hearing Aid-:

The low cost was hearing aid was ready for use this month. The Circuit diagram were picked from August 2003 issue of EFY.The circuit was modified further and now can give greater clarity of voice up to 4 meters. We are testing the circuit and we will finally promote it as low cost product for village people.

The cost of the circuit is less than Rs.80 and can be very handy. The dimensions are about 7 C.M. ,4 C.M. , 4 C.M. Its weight is also very low with batteries contributing most of it. We are working further to simplify the circuit more so that assembling the circuit becomes a layman's job.
